Off the clock.
The Personal Side
Bob and Crystal Moll are avid boaters, cruising Chesapeake Bay on “Betelgeuse,” their Grand Banks 49. Favorite stops include The Crab Claw at St. Michael’s, the harbors of Annapolis and Baltimore, Solomon’s Island in the Patuxent River, and the creeks, rivers, and bays from Havre de Grace to Norfolk.
The Studio
Bob works out of his home office after 25 years of co-owning the Chesapeake Design Group. The studio doubles as headquarters for two slightly opinionated coworkers — Ralphie and Alice — whose primary contribution is making sure no project runs past nap time.
While Bob’s studio sits at home, Crystal’s is principally on the streets of Baltimore, where she has become widely recognized for her colorful “urban landscape” paintings. Her work also captures scenes from the Eastern Shore, South Carolina, and New Orleans.
Hands
on.
When not designing full-size houses, Bob designs and builds miniature ones — taking such meticulous care that a photograph of the finished product looks like an actual residence.
On Site
Bob is equally at home on the job site as he is in the studio.
Carpentry
A skilled carpenter, with a complete woodworking shop at home.
Miniatures
Dollhouse designed and built for a very special young lady. Actual size: 36″ w x 23″ h.
And Crystal.
Painting Baltimore.
Crystal owns the Crystal Moll Gallery in the Highlandtown Arts District in Baltimore City — and is often seen painting on locations throughout the city. Bob houses and feeds all the outside birds while Crystal raises indoor finches.
