Bob is familiar with “Universal Design” and how to retrofit or design a home to make it safer, more comfortable, and accessible — allowing seniors or those with disabilities to live at home.
Green / Energy Conscious Design
Bob is well versed in all aspects of energy-conscious design and construction — from creating a well-sealed and insulated building envelope to the design of a passive solar home. He knows how to deliver a home that minimizes utility costs.

Sub-Contract & Design-Build
Bob will sub-contract to engineers, interior designers, or contractors — allowing them to offer a complete service package to their client. Bob enjoys working with contractors and respects their expertise and input during the design process. As a sub-contractor, Bob lets the builder offer a design-build package to clients, saving both time and money.
Services Appropriate to the Project
From simple design sketches to a complete set of construction documents, Bob will furnish whatever plans and services are appropriate for the job at hand.

Initial Consultation
The first meeting usually takes place at the client’s property, where we discuss the nature and parameters of the project. Preliminary timelines and budgets may be considered, with options and specifics to come later. Bob will then present a written proposal outlining scope, budget, and time frame. After consultation, an overall fee is presented, with a payment schedule based on project milestones. Costs are determined by a projection of the nature and time of services required, plus outside expenses if any.
